Serendipity Series

In direct opposition to the work with grids, the Serendipity Series uses chance arrangements of paper and other materials or chance observations to arrive at compositions with a similarly minimal and seemingly highly controlled feel. In some instances, the screens for these prints are made by scattering materials on the UV exposure unit, creating a stencil which can never be replicated after its use. In other instances the prints originate in photographs tracking the movement of sunlight and shadow on paper - residues from earlier work. A consideration of the fugitive, the ephemeral and residual memory seem to be at the core of this work. It is significant that the images produced are rarely repeated or are repeated with slight variations.
